Applicants to Cornell University are not required to submit Advanced Placement (AP) exam scores. Students who have taken AP exams and wish to submit their scores are welcome to do so.
Students may use credit they receive from AP exams to satisfy degree requirements only as specified by the individual college or school at Cornell to which they are applying. Although such credit counts toward a bachelor's degree, its primary purpose is to exempt students from introductory courses and to place them in advanced courses.
Please see the college and school admissions requirements for information about recommended secondary school coursework for each undergraduate college or school. For detailed information about AP credit, please visit the Courses of Study website. The How to Apply page may also be helpful.
