Does Cornell have a foreign language requirement for applicants?
print icon

Some of Cornell's colleges and schools require or recommend foreign language coursework at the high school level. Prospective students are encouraged to review the college and school admissions requirements for detailed information. Applicants who lack required foreign language experience will still be considered for admission. However, they should include a letter explaining this deficiency so their application is given every consideration. This explanation can be submitted via the Supplemental Materials section of the applicant portal.
