First-year and transfer students can apply via the Common Application, which should be completed and submitted online. Cornell also requires a Writing Supplement. The Cornell undergraduate college or school a student applies to may have additional requirements, such as a portfolio or a design submission. Cornell highly encourages applicants to submit all application materials online. Applicants should not submit a paper copy if they submit an online application through the Common Application. If a student is unable to submit their application electronically, they may send a paper copy of their application materials to the mailing address on Cornell’s Contact Us webpage.
